This week we were completing a reticulation service in Scarborough for Will, who required our expertise as his system wasn’t functioning, and quite frankly wouldn’t turn on at all. Will had a relatively new reticulation controller, so he was at a loose end as to the issue.
Upon arrival, we ran some diagnostics and wiring tests, including a resistance test of the master valve & solenoid valves. We discovered the master valve, which basically operates the whole system, was seized shut. We located the master valve adjacent to the water meter, cut it out and replaced it with a Irritrol master BSP 25mm solenoid valve, plus a new 20mm brass gate valve.
