Belinda contacted us feeling very perplexed about her reticulation system issues and wanted some general reticulation repairs in Tapping along with some advice.
She found that when she ran her reticulation system, no matter which zone she chose on her controller, station 1 which was the front lawn would always come on. This brings a lot of problems, but primarily it withdraws all the water pressure when trying to operate the other stations.
We had to use the reticulation ‘wand’, which sends current down the cable to the desired solenoid that pings when the receptor wand hovers over the top of it. Sounds easy, and luckily in this case it was, but on many older properties where the solenoids are buried deep or on larger blocks where you have an acre to search it can take hours.
We located station 1 about two meters away from Belinda’s driveway in the lawn, dug it up and replaced it with an Irritrol station solenoid and a 25mm PVC Press slip fix coupling.
Unfortunately upon testing we noticed that the main line that fed the backyard was burst from tree roots, this was also replaced and the tree roots were cut back away from the pipework.
Belinda now has her reticulation system back to normal and doesn't have to worry about pressure or coverage issues.
