Last week we were completing some reticulation repairs in Middle Swan, part of the Swan Valley wine area along with installing a new EZ Flow fertigation system for the vineyard.
On one of the most popular vineyards in the Swan Valley, Martin was the head botanist who contacted us requiring a system upgrade for the vines, along with a new fertigation system.
Along with providing domestic or residential repairs, Ryan’s Reticulation also specialises in large scale irrigation works and fertigation systems – we were more than happy to help Martin with his requirements.
Initially we installed a new Hydrawise reticulation controller that was purchased and on site originally, before we then got stuck into running over 600m of new 25mm poly pipe with micro shrubblers positioned for each fine to allow for adequate soaking. The pipe was run above ground, roughly 100mm above the vines with each water outlet facing in a downwards position, secured to the wire trace. No easy task and this alone took 2 solid days to complete.
Once the new pipework had been installed, we went about installing the new fertigation system for the vineyard – an EZ Flo 19.2L system designed specifically for agriculture uses and perfectly optimised for the 470 vines on the acreage. The EZ Flo system can be used with either liquid or granular fertilisers, however in this case a simple Nitrogen fertiliser was added to boost production prior to the end of the season. These systems are great as they inject fertiliser straight into your irrigation system and can be used for either domestic or commercial uses with all different units available for all sizes of properties.
