Last week we were contacted by Ally who needed some reticulation repairs in Jindalee.
She was finding her current system wasn’t watering the rear garden well with poor coverage and was also experiencing average pressure on the front lawn station.
On arrival we noticed the drip irrigation system for the back garden was barely operational and the plants were starting to suffer. We suggested removing the drip system and installing a spray system with risers and Toro nozzles for better coverage.
Ally was more than happy to get this completed and at the same time Adam and I were able to extend the retic to other parts of the garden that weren’t previously receiving water.
Particularly with drip systems, we try to encourage our customers to avoid them as they can be problematic in the future. It does serve a good purpose in certain situations however spray reticulation is far more productive and easier to service.
Moving out to the front lawn station, when running the system we noticed all 3 of the pop ups on the verge were pouring out water onto the curb and down the street. Unfortunately this is an all to normal occurrence, especially like in Ally’s case living on a corner block with cars accidentally driving over the sprinklers and snapping the fittings or poly risers.
A few PVC fittings were replaced along with new pop up sprinklers and Ally’s system is running at peak performance in time for a 35 degree week!
