Today we were completing some reticulation repairs in Craigie at the Craigie Tavern Bar and Bistro.
Many moons ago this used to be our ‘local watering hole’ so it was quite a coincidence having to do manual labour at the location of our usual Friday afternoon rest and recovery! Nevertheless Adam and I were here with a job to do, the bar had recently undertaken new management and they wanted to ensure the reticulation system was adequate to keep the exterior looking nice.
On arrival, the manager Ryan noted that the system had been manually turned off from the gate valve because a particular station kept running even when the controller was turned off. The only way this can happen is if the master solenoid that comes directly off the water meter is seized open, along with the additional station where the water is continuously flowing from.
In this case it was station 7 that did a small garden bed beside the bottle shop, we used the valve locating wand to find and replace this particular station along with the master solenoid. Both valves were replaced with Irritrol BSP 25mm valves and the required fittings.
Running through the rest of the system we replaced a few minor parts including pop and sprinklers and micro heads, ensuring the system is running at full capacity.
